Meet new people — the live way
If you're trying to meet new people online and your only tools are swipe-and-message apps, you've already noticed the problem: the inbox is full, the conversations are dead. OMGHey replaces the inbox with a live event. You show up at 9 PM, talk to one real person at a time, and decide in minutes whether there's anything there.
The format
- Sunday at 9 PM local: live video. One-on-one calls with people nearby.
- Wednesday at 9 PM local: live text. Same format, lower activation energy.
- Real identity, real photos, no anonymous lurking.
- Match to keep talking. Skip to meet someone new.
Why this works better than scrolling
An app full of profiles is a casting call. An app full of live conversations is an actual room. The first one is exhausting; the second one is how friendships and relationships have always started.
Who you'll meet
OMGHey skews toward adults in their late teens through their early 30s — students, young professionals, recent transplants, anyone who'd rather talk than swipe. The biggest live pools are in major U.S. metros, but the local radius widens automatically in smaller cities.
Friendship, dating, or both
OMGHey isn't strictly a dating app. Set your intent — friendship, dating, or both — and you'll be matched accordingly. Plenty of users come on for one and leave with the other.
How to actually meet someone
- Install the app and finish your profile before Sunday.
- Open it at 8:55 PM. Tap Go Live at 9.
- Talk to whoever comes up. Skip cleanly if it's not clicking.
- When you match with someone good, suggest a real plan in the first few messages.
